What this covers
PDF Hero provides document viewing, basic editing and local file management. We minimize data collection and focus on on-device processing. Where data is transmitted (e.g., analytics, ads), this policy explains what is sent and why.
Data we collect
We group collected information into three categories:
- Device & environment: device model, OS version, app version, locale and connection type — used to troubleshoot and ensure compatibility.
- Usage & diagnostics: anonymous usage events, crash traces and performance metrics to improve reliability.
- User-provided: email and message content only when you contact support or opt into optional features (e.g., cloud backup).
We do not read or upload the contents of your documents unless you expressly enable a cloud or sharing feature.
How we use data
- Deliver core app features (open, preview, save, export).
- Detect and fix crashes, improve speed and compatibility.
- Measure aggregated usage to prioritize product improvements.
- Serve ads in accordance with user consent and platform policies (only if ads are enabled).
Third-party SDKs & advertising
Where we integrate third-party services (analytics, attribution, ad delivery), those vendors may collect technical data under their own policies. Current integrations include:
- Google Firebase — analytics & crash reporting. Privacy
- Google AdMob — ad serving & measurement. Privacy
- AppsFlyer — install attribution. Privacy
These services act as independent controllers/processors for their own data processing. We surface links to their full policies in settings.
Storage & retention
Files you open or download are stored on your device by default. We retain diagnostic and analytics data for a limited time (typically 30–90 days) to support troubleshooting. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request or for legal reasons.
App permissions
The app requests only the permissions required for its features:
- Storage / Files access — to open, save and manage documents on your device.
- Notifications — optional; used for download completion notices and service messages.
You can revoke permissions at any time via your device settings. If you deny a permission, related features may be limited.
Your choices & rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access copies of personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Object to certain processing or request restriction

Children
PDF Hero is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Substantive updates will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
